Summer Solstice Piano Meditations
Summer Solstice Piano Meditations is a musical expression of qualities available at the beginning of Summer. Shulman’s transcendent performance recorded on the Kawai Concert Grand Piano of the United Research Light Center explores a fullness of Summer ease while following a continuous musical thread. This thread expresses inspiration in harmony.

Notes from the composer:
It had been raining all morning as we prepared to record music for the Summer Solstice and we could hear the drizzle outside from inside the geodesic dome of the Prayer room. We agreed to set up microphones outside so the rain could play its part in the recording, and it gradually tapered off over the course of the afternoon. This allowed the creation of a musical program from dark to light with our two recording dates. It turned out that our second recording date was a glorious summer day and this too was reflected in the music.
Special thanks to Leslie Cotney and Sarah Gayle at the Light Center (URLight.org) for logistical and heartfelt support for this project! And special thanks to Tanya Gupta for expressing the beauty in this music through video.
To Listeners: May this music bless you and bring fullness of peace, love and joy…
